If peace is something that we all want
Why are so many of us waging wars?
Is peace the nature of all mankind
Or are we just creatures, savage and wild?

Peace is a luxury that we consume
Peace is a lottery that we may lose
It can be a robbery of the neighborhood
Peace may not be fully understood

Peace can be fatal and unfair
When it becomes failure to interfere
Based on a refusal to deter
When someone’s hatred fills the air

Peace is unstable, peace is rare
Peace is valuable, we must take care
Just like the fable of the fox and the deer
Peace between countries or just you and me

If peace is the end, then what is the means?
Am I a fool to believe in my dreams?
Can we just move on as we please
When peace comes under siege?
